Arcadia is one of the most desired neighborhoods to live in in the Phoenix Metro. It is known for its large irrigated lots, views of Camelback Mountain and the citrus trees that remain from the days of Arcadia being a citrus grove. Home sites were built starting in the 1920s and 1930s, but the majority of the homes were built in the 1950s and 1960s. While there is a mix of newer homes built on existing lots, most builders maintain the 1950s look and character with a modern update, and which has continued in the remodels in the area holding to the original ranch style with lush green mature landscapes.
Today, Arcadia is well known for its locally owned restaurants like La Grande Orange, Postino's Winebar or Chelsea's Kitchen. Many residents and patrons cruise to their favorite hot spot ion bike through the relaxed and casual neighborhoods of Arcadia. The Arizona Canal serves as a favorite biking, running, and walking path through Arcadia and its parks into South Scottsdale or the Biltmore areas. Many families have found Arcadia to be a perfect place to call home as it has one of the top school districts in the state.
